Biography
Ljubica has an extensive experience in inter-disciplinary research, natural hazards risk assessment and management, resource management and project leadership and management. She has a background in numerical risk modelling, hazards vulnerability analysis, impact assessment and environmental planning. Ljubica is currently exploring strategies for integrated environmental risk management using systems approach, within the framework of sustainable development. She is a member of a number of international and national risk management and environmental management bodies and has taught and published in the areas of natural hazards mitigation, earth systems science, integrated resource management, environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, environmental change, systems, science and environmental ethics. She is a past President of the NZ Chapter of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand and a former Programme Director for the Bachelor of Resource Management at Unitec School of Natural Sciences.
